Here's a Brainerd roof replacement we've been working through from start to finish. The old shingles were stripped off completely - no layovers, no shortcuts. When we pull everything off, we get a clean look at the decking and can address anything that needs attention before a single piece of new material goes down.

We went with Owens Corning Duration shingles in Brownwood for this one. It's a rich, warm color that works really well on a wooded lot like this. More importantly, Duration shingles are built tough - they carry a SureNail Technology strip that gives each shingle a seriously strong fastening zone. That matters a lot in Minnesota, where wind and weather put roofs through their paces every single year.

The underlayment stage is something a lot of homeowners never think about, but it's one of the most important parts of a quality asphalt roof installation. We use RhinoRoof U20 synthetic underlayment across the full deck before any shingles go on. It's a moisture barrier and a secondary line of defense - if anything ever gets past the shingles, the underlayment is what stands between your home and water damage.

We do it this way on every job. It's not the fastest approach, but it's the right one. A roof that's built correctly from the deck up is one that a homeowner doesn't have to think about for a long time. That peace of mind is really what we're after for the people we work for.

The Brownwood color came out sharp against the natural surroundings out there. Clean lines, solid coverage, and a system that's built to last. That's what a roof replacement should look like when it's done right.
