Sometimes the smallest gutter problem causes the biggest headaches. When a gutter corner drops below the drip edge, water doesn't just overflow - it finds its way behind the gutter entirely. From there, it soaks into the fascia board, works toward the soffit, and can eventually cause rot, mold, or even foundation issues if it pools at the base of the house.

Here's what we were working with on this one. The gutter corner had separated from the drip edge, leaving a gap where water could sneak behind the metal instead of flowing into the gutter channel. It's the kind of thing that's easy to miss from the ground, but up close you can see exactly where the system had broken down.

Our fix was straightforward but done right. We added an extension piece at the corner to close that gap and redirect water back into the gutter where it belongs. Once the repair was in place, we tested it with a hose - not just a visual check, but an actual flow test to confirm water was moving through the gutter and out the downspout the way it should.

That's the part a lot of people skip. It's one thing to make a repair look right. It's another to prove it works. We don't leave a job without knowing the water is going exactly where it needs to go. Small repairs like this one, done correctly, protect a lot more than just the gutter.

Gutters do a lot of quiet work to protect your home. When one part of the system stops functioning - even a single corner - it can set off a chain of water damage that gets expensive fast. If something looks off with your gutters, it's worth getting eyes on it sooner rather than later.
