Fall is the season that gives gutters the hardest time. Leaves drop fast, pine needles pile up, and before you know it, water has nowhere to go. That's when the real damage starts - overflowing gutters can push water back against your fascia, siding, and eventually your foundation.

We've been out helping homeowners get ahead of it. A gutter cleaning might seem like a small thing, but the protection it provides is anything but. When gutters are blocked, water backs up under the roofline and sits. That sitting water is what causes rot, mold, and costly repairs down the road.

Here's what we typically find this time of year - gutters packed with wet leaf debris, pine needles matted against the bottom, and downspouts that are partially or fully blocked. Getting it all cleared out means water flows where it's supposed to again. Off the roof, through the gutters, and away from the house.

We check the full run of the gutters while we're up there. If we spot anything that needs attention - loose hangers, sections pulling away from the fascia, any soft spots on the roofline - we'll flag it for you. That's just part of doing the job right. Gutter cleaning and roof maintenance go hand in hand, and catching small issues now is always better than dealing with bigger ones after a hard winter.

Getting on the schedule before the last of the leaves fall is the smart move. Once the trees are bare, you know everything that's coming down has already landed - and clearing it out once means your gutters are set heading into the cold months.
